Ekura
Act 1, Scene 1 (same as previous chapter)
Ekura: Sparrow... what are you doing here?
Sparrow: I was in prison. I decided to leave and pay you a little visit... I'm sure that there are a lot of others from Moresuke who would also like to...
Ekura: How did you-
Sparrow: You'd think the Prince's palace would have better security, wouldn't you? *laughs* It wasn't a problem.
Zen: Huzzah for you. Great work, breaking in and all. *stands up* But what do you do now? *grins* What could the heroic, idealistic, merciful Sparrow do to a beautiful girl who was viciously led away by a terrible wolf in sheep's clothing?
Sparrow: Mercy... I've been less merciful more and more... I'm becoming what I need to be to win this war. I'm learning how to do what has to be done.
Zen: Really? Huh, interesting...
Sparrow: And one of those things is the execution of treacherous swine... *lifts sword above Ekura*
Ameyura, Zen, and... someone else all at same time: No!
Atana Sensei: *steps out of shadows* Don't do that Sparrow.
All: Huh?!
Sparrow: How did you get here?!
Atana: Did I ever leave you? Even if I had, you've left a trail of blood throughout this city.
Ameyura: *glare at Sparrow*
Sparrow: You can't guilt me. I've finally started doing what needs to be done.
Atana: Senseless murder? If you want to be just like the Prince, go ahead! *shakes head* Oh Sparrow... you used to soar so high...
Sparrow: Why would you even try to dissuade me?! She's a traitor! She sold us out!
Atana: She is. But you betrayed her first.
Sparrow: Shut up. I don't care about silly little things like love. We're in a war. There's no room for love in war.
Atana: Love is everything. Because we're fighting a war, we need it more than ever.
Sparrow: Why would you protect her?!
Atana: She might deserve this, in your eyes. But, she also deserves a second chance. Everyone deserves a second chance. Murder should never be your first choice, but your last!
Sparrow: Atana. I respect you and your ideas... but someone will pay the price for Ekura's betrayal.
Zen: Let it be me.
Sparrow: You would give yourself up for her? *laughs sadistically* Wow, you actually loved her. If wasn't just a ploy. How quaint!
Zen: If you're going to kill someone kill me. It was my idea. I made her.
Ekura: Zen-
Zen: Sh, Ekura. I sent the troops. I burned down your village. So, make me pay.
Sparrow: Oh I will, more than you realize. And what better way to make you pay, then to kill your little soul mate?! *sadistic laugh*
All: No!
Sparrow: Wow. Bleeding hearts, all of you! Ekura, come here, or you and Zen die!
Ekura: *goes to Sparrow*
Jyakuge: Sparrow. This has to stop. If you have to hurt someone hurt me. *puts self in front of Ekura*
Sparrow: You know what? If this is how you act towards your leader, then you deserve it! *swings sword at Jyakuge*
Ekura: No! *pushes Jyakuge out of way*
Sparrow: *slashes Ekura*
Zen: No! Agh! *runs towards Sparrow*
Sparrow: *stabs Zen*
Zen and Ekura embrace, as they bleed out on the floor.
Zen: It never was a game... I loved you from the start.
Ekura: All I wanted was your love... I didn't need a bribe...
Zen: I'm sorry I brought this upon you... *gasp*
Ekura: It's alright. I would rather die with you, then never meet you.
They quietly die. Sparrow leaves, determined to catch the Prince.
Atana: We can't let him confront Irakura like this. His guards will slaughter him.
Ameyura: *chase after him*
Scene 2
The Ameyura have Sparrow cornered in a hall.
Sparrow: So, this is what it's come to!? Outright betrayal!
Atana: No, Sparrow. You became the traitor when you stopped saving innocents and started killing them.
Sparrow: You think you can capture me?! *laughs*
Short fight commences. Sparrow is good, but in the end, is caught, and bound.
Scene 3
Ameyura are leaving the palace, and are sneaking out a window, when a guard spots them.
Guard: Hey! Stop right there! *calls for help*
Ameyura: *hurry*
The guards go at the Ameyura.
Atana: Go! *blocks off guard* Leave me!
Jyakuge (who is holding Sparrow): No!
Sparrow: *rocks back and forth, causing Jyakuge to fall out of window, leaving Atana behind*
Atana (from inside): Agh!
Jyakuge: *tear*
Sparrow: *laughs*
As guards pour out of the palace, the Ameyura flee.
Jyakuge: Come on, we're going home.
Ameyura 4: We don't have a home, remember?
Jyakuge: Oh, dang it! I meant, we're going to Mount Ariat.
The Ameyura steal some horses and leave.
Act 2, Scene 1 (morning, inside palace)
Irakura: Last night, we had some visitors... the Ameyura.
Nobles: *clamorous outbreak*
Irakura: Settle down... Zen Arugunta and his lover, Ekura Watanu were killed. Regretfully. I would like to enlist the help of a new ally in order to catch Sparrow. She is widely known as the Witch of Gyuna. Afterwards, we will discuss arrangements to disperse Zen's holdings.
Fade out as nobles talk amongst theirselves.
