The Friend's Gift
Act 1, Scene 1 (Morning of day after the events of “Breakout”)
Ameyura are outside of the capital. They are riding down a road, talking amongst themselves. Sparrow is bound and gagged in a cart, being pulled by Jyakuge's horse. Sparrow is hidden under hay.
Jyakuge: What should we do, Mesu?
Mesu: I don't know. What can we do, Sparrow's gone insane, and we can't go to Ariat with him like that.
Jyakuge: We need help. It's several days out to... wherever we hope to end up, and we don't have food. We can't catch up to the main party, they're too far gone.
Mesu: What's that? *points towards Eji's Caravan*
Jyakuge: You've gotta be kidding me.
Scene 2 (The same)
Eji: Hey, what can I do for you?
Jyakuge: Uh, we need help.
Eji: I just asked what can I do for you. Are you stupid? Anyways, where's Sparrow?
Jyakuge: He's insane.
Eji: Wow. Stress got to him, huh?
Jyakuge: It was very strange. He just started acting crazy, killing people.
Eji: Really?
Jyakuge: Yeah, he wouldn't even listen to us.
Eji: I've heard of a rare disease, known as Zasuke. It ruins the mind. It sounds like Sparrow somehow contracted it. Extreme violence is the main symptom.
Jyakuge: Will he get better?
Eji: No. He'll die within a week. There is no known cure... except...
Jyakuge: Except?!
Eji: Except, in Avalon.
All: Avalon?
Eji: Avalon. Avalon is a paradise. They have a deep understanding of human physiology, and can cure any disease.
Jyakuge: How do we find them?
Eji: You don't just find Avalon. They give instructions to people they felt have earned a place in Avalon.
Jyakuge: But Sparrow will die...
Scene 3 (The capital, in Irakura's throne room)
Irakura: Nobles.
Nobles: *argue with each other*
Irakura: Nobles!
Irakura: Nobles!
Nobles: *fall silent*
Irakura: If you can cease your useless jabbering for a moment, I have some valuable information. I have, through my spies, gleaned the location of Avalon.
Random Nobles: Avalon? That's impossible! That's just a fairy tale! A children's story!
Irakura: SHUT UP. It is very real. I have raised a militia to go there and bring back all of the traitors residing within it. Is that not a noble goal?
Nobles: Yeah, yeah!
Irakura: Glad to know I have your support. We are done here. LEAVE.
Nobles: Uh, ok. *leave*
Irakura: Screa?
General Screa: *enters room*
Irakura: I assume that you brought my guest with you?
Screa: Than you assume right, my liege.
Irakura: Send the witch in.
Act 2, Scene 1 (Eji's Caravan)
Eji: I got some instructions, and I don't really want them, so go ahead, take them. My gift to you.
Jyakuge: Thank you, so much, Eji.
Scene 2 (The capital, in the throne room)
Nobleman: Irakura.
Irakura: Yes, you arrogant worm?
Noble: I was looking over the law that kings must follow, and it appears that you need a wife.
Irakura: My mother died when I was young... my father didn't have to get married again, why should I have to get married?
Noble: The point is there is an obvious place for the control of Norea to go to. Your father had you... lucky guy.
Irakura: I see. Very well.
Noble: We have several candidates-
Irakura: -I'm sure you do. I will choose my own wife, thank you very much.
Scene 3 (Ameyura, next to a cliff)
Jyakuge: This must be it. The instructions said right here.
Mesu: Maybe we followed them wrong... they were pretty weird...
Jyakuge: Maybe it's a disguise. The instructions say take a leap of faith. I'm going to jump.
Ameyura 4: There goes another leader!
Jyakuge: Shut up, Bon.
Bon (Ameyura 4): *sigh*
Jyakuge jumps, wow, huge surprise it IS a disguise. A mirage to be exact. It looks like thin air opens, and a man steps out, inviting them to enter Avalon.
