5.6 - Inferno

Inferno

Scene 1 [A Warehouse]
Maru: I’m going to continue Sparrow’s mission, and I’m gonna start continuing strong. Yesterday, we stole this air-ship while I played distraction. Tonight we’ll be using it.
[They take apart the roof of the warehouse, and Maru takes flight.]

Scene 2 [Above The City]
[Mare flies to several different locations, and drops hot coals from the balloon onto buildings. Lots of hot coals. The buildings catch fire, then Maru pours grease down, creating huge fires.]

Scene 3 [Everywhere]
[All sorts of people are battling the fires. The slums are half burnt down.]

Scene 4 [Canon’s Apartment]
[Enter Koiki]
Canon: And now we receive our daily fix of news.
Koiki: You’ll like this; it’s got an article from Maru in it.
Canon: Really?
Koiki: Yeah. Apparently he sent it in, and he explains what happened last night, and takes credit. Oh. And they found his hot air balloon this morning.
Canon: So what did Maru have to say?
Koiki: He simply pointed out how the further from the palace the fire was, it got less attention.
Atsura: Half of the slums burnt down…
Koiki: While fires in the political area were extinguished as quickly as they could.
Canon: I wonder what Irakura has to say about this.
Atsura: Half of the slums… that’s unheard of…

Scene 5 [The Grand Plaza]
Irakura: As most of you have heard, Maru claims that fires were allowed to burn in less important areas, so as to allocate more help to the important areas. This isn’t true. We fought all of the fires. But, we decided, being undermanned, to use the fires as demolition, since we were planning to tear down a lot of buildings. For example, in the slums, we’re building huge skyscrapers and markets where the fire burned everything away. Norea is like a phoenix; after being bathed in fire, we will rise out of the ashes, stronger than before!
