Tricks

Trickery and treachery are the practices of fools that have not the wits enough to be honest”
Benjamin Franklin

Scene 1, The Grand Plaza
The Prince: Welcome, to today's debates! I would like to begin. Is that alright?
Kasupe: *nods, but looks wary and troubled*
Mana: Of course.
The Prince: Kasupe, do You stand by Your remarks yesterday?
[Flashback]
Kasupe: The nobility is corrupt! And the king's family is the worst. Despite the progress this election is making, the idea that a bloodline is valuable is disgusting! The king's family is disgusting! It's horrendous! It's!...
[Present]
Kasupe: ...always.
The Prince: Then it may interest the people to know that You, Kasupe, are related to the King!
Kasupe: No...! Shut up! No!!
Canon (to Atsura): This is interesting. Are You ready?
Atsura: Yup.
Irakura: Kasupe is the king's cousin!
[Crowd gasps and is angry at Kasupe 'cause his remarks were hypocritical]
Irakura: Kasupe is a hypocrit!
Kasupe: *head in hands, shamed*
Taebii: He gave up the nobility, he was raised without it!At least he's not a terrorist!
Irakura: Would You be referring to Sparrow? Mr. Taebii You're less entitled to become The Prince than that infamous man!
Taebii: What--?! No!
The Prince: Mana Taebii is not from Norea! He is from a foreign land!
Taebii: Forgive me...
[Crowd's very angry towards him.]
Koiki: Why are they so angry?
Canon: The war isn't going well. Anyone not from here is under suspicion, and usually hated.
Atsura: That's awful...
Mana: I will be withdrawing. But first, I would like to read a little from these scrolls, that Hebimaru left with me.
“Execute everyone in the village.”
“Coerce him into working with Us, or arrange an accident.”
“Bribe whoever You need to.”
*rolls up the scrolls* That's only a small portion. These are direct orders from Irakura.
Canon: Now they're all discredited.
[Exit Taebii]
Irakura: I did what I had to do, for the people! For the people!
