Why We're Here

Sorry! But i'm still trying to be fair...

i decided that today, there will be no new chapter whatsoever. so. yup. but, to be fair, i guess i'll give You a bit of insight into the currently turning cogs and gears within that section of my brain devoted to The Prince...
While i personally love Canon/Imeda, i realized that many people will believe it's too good to be true, and several people simply will not like one or both of them. and, for the fun of introducing a little chaos in a currently peaceful arc, i decided to introduce a new character. More on them later!
About the current setting - lately i've been writign filler-ish type chapters, filling out the story, giving characters closure... but i think it's time that i start an actual new arc, so that's why i'm inventing...
Anji! Anji is Imeda's competitor for Canon (or is she?!)! Even tho she's still under development, Anji is going to be an optimistically darker character... she's going to be very active, and flirtatious~ ooh. The point of introducing Anji is to further Canon/Imeda, or split them... Also, i will be introducing someone to compete with Canon first, who'll be sticking around (and no, that other person will NOT end up with Anji) to give Imeda somewhere to go if Canon leaves... but i've got plenty of time to plan that out, after all, the blog is still over ten volumes behind the outlines!

5.8 Finale - Confrontation and Smug

Confrontation

Scene 1 [Canon’s Apartment]
Canon: As you all may have heard, Shinika killed herself.
Atsura: This is awful.

Scene 2 [The Grand Plaza]
Irakura: Sadly, Shinika has killed herself. To commemorate the sacrifices of these brave individuals, I will be holding a state funeral. Tomorrow, I will give a eulogy at their viewing. I dare Maru to hit me, instead of innocents. I’ve told him where I’ll be, and when. So let him come. I’m going to hunt him down like the scum he is.

Scene 3 [The Grand Plaza]
Irakura: And-
Out in the crowd: Irakura!
Irakura: Yes?
Out in the crowd: Eat this!
[An arrow lands at Irakura’s feet, as his guards (on the stage) are assaulted. Maru himself jumps onto the stage and attacks Irakura. The two battle. Irakura gets the upperhand, and forces Maru to the ground, amongst cheers. Maru is super angry, and his men start to attack Irakura. Then, his guards get up and restrain Maru’s men. Undercover police rush out of the crowd, and take care of all of Maru’s people.]
Irakura: It’s over! It’s over! We are free at last!

Smug

Scene 1 [Irakura]
Irakura: Meifune, everything is going along splendidly. All who oppose me are falling… all that remain are Canon and Kasupe… I’m so close. My final victory is within grasp.

Scene 2 [Canon’s Apartment]
Atsura: Well, things certainly are different now.
Canon: Yeah… but our main goal remains the same. We will overthrow the Prince.
Koiki: But where do we go from here?
Canon: I…I don’t really know yet. We need a plan. We need to find some dirt on Irakura.
Atsura: And to find dirt…?
Canon: We’ll head to the palace.

Scene 3 [The Royal Library (at night)]
[Canon digs through scrolls in the library, reading them by candlelight. Then, the door opens and Irakura walks in.]
Canon: Irakura!
Irakura: Canon. I’d like to talk to you. Please accompany me to a cheerier place, if you don’t mind.
Canon: …
[Irakura walks out into his throne-room, and Canon follows. Irakura sits down.]
Irakura: Please, sit.
Canon: No.
Irakura: now, now, no need to be rude, simply because you’ve lost.
Canon: I haven’t lost yet. The people won’t accept a tyrant like you.
Irakura: You don’t understand the significance of the past few weeks, do you? The people see me as their greatest hero, their savior. They will accept anything I choose to do, in the name of justice, and safety.
Canon: Kasupe is a better man. And his campaign isn’t over yet! And I won’t give up on stopping you.
Irakura: I’m no fool. I won’t aid either of your efforts by doing anything stupid. The people will reject you. Your efforts are over. I’m so invincible that I’m not afraid of you. You may leave, freely.
Canon: but…but… only in the capitol! Everywhere else, you’re still evil.
Irakura: No. I’m not. I had people masquerade as terrorists in many cities, so that when I took down Maru, I would be a hero to ALL.
Canon: You…
Irakura: There’s nothing you can do. I am invincible. I am justice!

For Newcomers and Sporadic-comers

For those who do not know, this blog's purpose is to entertain my boredom, and my desire to share my story, The Prince. The Prince is fairly extensive as of right now, covering five volumes in this blog. i've decided, to aid newcomers, and to make reading easier, that from now on, instead of "Volume _ - _____" It'll be more akin to 5.6 ______, as an example, the 5 being the volume, and the 6 the chapter number within the volume, and the blank, of course, the title. New posts have been slow, for which i apologize, but i've been busy with a few things, and i need to write some more.

Desperation and Speak

Desperation

Scene 1 [The Throne-room]
Irakura: Something has to be done. We’ll have to reinstate our old terrorism measures. And this time, we’re shutting down any and all movement in and out of the city.
[Gates clang shut]
We will search the city systematically.
[Guards enter and search homes.]
More checkpoints, and of course, rewards for aiding us, and threats to sympathizers.

Scene 2 [Canon’s Apartment]
Koiki: Are we gonna go out there and search, like the police?
Canon: no. if we found him, it’d only become a brawl, and he’d probably get away anyways. We’ll wait until he reveals himself, or something else comes up.

Scene 3 [Maru’s Hideout]
Maru: You three. *points* go make some chaos. [Exit Three]
Even if The Prince thinks he can lock me down, I’m still in the game. He’s in for a surprise if he thinks he can win this way.
[Police enter a building directly across from Maru’s. It explodes.]

Speak

“Each time we face our fear, we gain strength, courage, and confidence in the doing.”

Scene 1 [The Grand Plaza]
Irakura: People. I know that you are scared by this Maru person. But I have three victims oh his terrorism, with me today. Their names are Gan, Takaru, and Shinika. They have asked to speak to you. They aren’t afraid.
Gan: My name is Gan. Maru kidnapped my parents, and me. Then… he killed them in front of me. I hate him. You can’t let him live! He’s a horrible monster. He has to die! KILL HIM! I-HE-!! *breaks down and is taken away*
Takaru: My name is Takaru. I used to have a wife and children. Then, while I was away at work, Maru attacked. My family was trapped in a blazing inferno he caused. I lost not just my home but everyone I cared about. Maru tried to justify his actions the next day, but there’s no justifying what he did! It was horrible! It was senseless! Maru is a monster! My wife had just had a baby, my new son! And now, he’s gone! Nothing can bring him back, and Maru is still out there! Stop him! Before he ruins more lives!
Shinika: I don’t have much to say. I lost everything, and more, to Maru. More than anyone… Maru is a terrible person, saying it nicely. He makes Sparrow seem kind. The people are a huge part of any effort to catch a criminal, and it’s our responsibility to aid The Prince. Don’t let Maru escape this city with his life.
Irakura: As you can see, there are many among you who’ve been wronged by Maru. Maru is still at large. He’s within the city. He may even be in this crowd. It is up to every single one of you to aid us in his capture. He is evil. If you do not stride to stop him, you are evil. We must stop him. It is up to you, and me, and every single one of us. Maru. Must. Go. Down. Perhaps you are afraid of him? Look at these three… they’ve spoken out against Maru, and that means Maru will come after them. I will protect them. We are stronger. Maru, I dare You to come after these three.
[An explosive goes off in the crowd]
Irakura: And so it begins.

Scene 2 [The Streets]
[Shinika, Takaru, and Gan are in a carriage, which is part of a convoy, escorted by the police. While they’re riding, a bomb goes off in the street, splitting, and stopping, the convoy. While they’re stopped, several arrows hit the carriage, piercing it. The carriage quickly gets moving again, and the driver looks in to check on everyone. Gan has an arrow sticking through him, but the other two are fine.]

Scene 3 [The Police Station]
[Takaru and Shinika are in the station, surrounded by police.]
Chief Soto: Don’t worry. We’ll move you into safe-houses tonight.
[Outside, several police shout]
Soto: What’s going on?!
Shinika: He’s here.
[Several bottles full of fire hit the station. In the confusion, several men attack. They break in, and are quickly killed, although one of them manages to throw a bottle of fire at Takaru, killing him.]
Scene 4 [The Throne-Room]
Irakura: So now we know Maru’s perfect weakness… the same as his mentor’s… his temper. He isn’t very smart, and with a good plan, we can catch him!
Soto: Such as?
Irakura: Shinika. He’s after her, which means she is the best bait we have.
Soto: We promised to protect her!
Irakura: We also promised to protect the people.
Soto: I won’t allow it.
Irakura: So be it. Allow him to run free, then.

5.7 - Shock

Shock

Scene 1 [Maru’s Hideout]
Maru: Regular attacks just aren’t cutting it. The Prince has increased security, and, with how common they are now, the people are getting used to it. We need a new strategy.

Scene 2 [Canon’s Apartment]
[Enter Koiki]
Atsura: Bad things always happen when he walks in.
Koiki: Maru’s made a threat and published it in the paper!
Atsura: See?
Canon: What’s the threat?
Koiki: He says there’s gonna be a surprise at the harbor, and then food prices are gonna go up later.
Canon: He’s targeting the storage silos. I don’t know what he intends to do at the harbor though. It seems that the threat involving the silos will occur later, so I think we’ll have time to check out the harbor.

Scene 3 [The Harbor]
[Enter Atsura]
Atsura: The police won’t let anyone get any closer to the harbor.
Canon: Understandable. I wonder what Maru’s going to try…
[Moments later, people are rushing past them in a panic. As they get past, Canon sees what they’re running from. A warship is speeding towards the harbor. Canon turns and runs. The warship slams into the harbor, wrecking a lot of it.]
Civilian: If the Prince can’t stop him, even after he announced his attack, how can we ever be safe?!
Canon: This is exactly what he wants… Atsura! Koiki! We’re going to the silos, now!

Scene 4 [The Storage Silos]
[Enter Canon, Atsura, and Koiki]
Canon: Chief Soto.
Soto: Canon. Or is it Eru?
Canon: … it’s Eru, in this case.
Soto: So you made the same deduction I did?
Canon: Looks like it.
Soto: What do you think his strategy will be?
Canon: Hm… *looks up at the silos, which, in his mind, turn into dominos* I have an idea…

Scene 5 [Same, but Later]
Maru: *sets explosives at the base of a silo, which explode and knock it over*
Soto: Exactly as you predicted!
Canon: Now our preparations should come into effect…
[The storage silo Maru knocks over explodes.]
Soto: It was a risky strategy, placing explosives in the silo.
Canon: Not as risky as it seems, since the bombs would only go off if there were explosions nearby.
Soto: Either way, it worked. The people will start to regain a bit of hope, since we thwarted him.
Canon: But, we lost a silo. And he still hit the harbor. Something has to be done.

Scene 6 [The Throne-room]
Irakura: Something has to be done.

5.6 - Inferno

Inferno

Scene 1 [A Warehouse]
Maru: I’m going to continue Sparrow’s mission, and I’m gonna start continuing strong. Yesterday, we stole this air-ship while I played distraction. Tonight we’ll be using it.
[They take apart the roof of the warehouse, and Maru takes flight.]

Scene 2 [Above The City]
[Mare flies to several different locations, and drops hot coals from the balloon onto buildings. Lots of hot coals. The buildings catch fire, then Maru pours grease down, creating huge fires.]

Scene 3 [Everywhere]
[All sorts of people are battling the fires. The slums are half burnt down.]

Scene 4 [Canon’s Apartment]
[Enter Koiki]
Canon: And now we receive our daily fix of news.
Koiki: You’ll like this; it’s got an article from Maru in it.
Canon: Really?
Koiki: Yeah. Apparently he sent it in, and he explains what happened last night, and takes credit. Oh. And they found his hot air balloon this morning.
Canon: So what did Maru have to say?
Koiki: He simply pointed out how the further from the palace the fire was, it got less attention.
Atsura: Half of the slums burnt down…
Koiki: While fires in the political area were extinguished as quickly as they could.
Canon: I wonder what Irakura has to say about this.
Atsura: Half of the slums… that’s unheard of…

Scene 5 [The Grand Plaza]
Irakura: As most of you have heard, Maru claims that fires were allowed to burn in less important areas, so as to allocate more help to the important areas. This isn’t true. We fought all of the fires. But, we decided, being undermanned, to use the fires as demolition, since we were planning to tear down a lot of buildings. For example, in the slums, we’re building huge skyscrapers and markets where the fire burned everything away. Norea is like a phoenix; after being bathed in fire, we will rise out of the ashes, stronger than before!

5.5 and 6 - Pariah and Spectators

Pariah

Scene 1 [The Coastal Base]
[Everyone chases after Sparrow, but he escapes.]

Scene 2 [Inside The Base]
[Canon watches as several of Sparrow’s men are taken prisoner.]
Canon: Is that all of them?
Irakura: No. Maru and a few others got away.

Scene 3 [The Grand Plaza]
Irakura: Anyone who helps the fugitive Sparrow in any way shall be put to death, along with their families and friends. However, if you aid the authorities in his capture, you will be given great rewards. Sparrow is pure evil… please help us capture him.

Scene 4 [The Desert]
[Sparrow is seen walking through a desert, alone.]

Scene 5 [Canon’s Apartment]
Koiki: So who is this Maru?
Atsura: He’s an extremist, even back when he was part of the Ameyura. He always followed Sparrow’s lead though. He’s very dangerous, and is the perfect candidate to continue Sparrow’s campaign against Irakura.
Canon: He’s Sparrow’s successor.

Spectators

Scene 1 [The Grand Plaza]
Irakura: People of Norea, I present you with a great advancement in technology! Air-ships!
Crowd: ooh & aaahh
[A large airship lifts off from the plaza, surprising many.]
Irakura: in honor of this occasion, we will be having a holiday!
Crowd: Yay!

Scene 2 [The Palace]
Irakura: What applications do these ships have for the military?
General: Obviously as transports. Smaller ones could be used in battle, or to drop explosives…
Irakura: All excellent ideas! Tell Kurisu, the chief engineer, to get to work on modifying the ships for war. Hopefully, we’ll be able to use them to win the war in Dracoa, finally.
Generals: Yes sir!

Scene 3 [The Skyscraper Area]
[As a hot air balloon drifts by, Maru jumps off the skyscraper and hijacks it. He pilots it towards other balloons, and attacks them with spears he brought with him.]

Scene 4 [Near Previous]
[On the ground, Kasupe is hanging out with Canon and his group. They’re about to take a ride on a balloon. Then, they spot Maru popping balloons.]
Canon: Let’s go!
Kasupe: Wait! I can do this by myself (inwardly) and look like a hero!
Canon: Well..
Kasupe: Please, let me prove myself!
Canon: Fine. I guess… I’ll give you ten minutes.

Scene 5 [The Sky]
[Kasupe pilots his balloon at Maru’s.]
Kasupe: okay, let’s see… a plan… I need a plan…
[The Balloons collide, and Maru pops Kasupe’s. Kasupe makes sure that he’s caught with Maru, so they go down together. As they go down, Kasupe takes a risk and jumps. He just barely breaks through a window, on a skyscraper, and survives.]

Scene 6 [The Ground]
[Enter Kasupe]
Kasupe: Is Maru’s body there?
Canon: uh-uh. He might have survived, or he fell out at some point and he’s dead somewhere on the ground.
Koiki: With our luck... he’s alive.

Volume 5 - Downfall and Maru Arcs

As You may have noticed, the fourth volume has come to a close. The war was brief, but devestating in it's future consequences... the vote that promised to bring great change was cancelled, as Irakura took control of the country for the war against Takamaru, acting in the name of his "God"... it also allowed Sparrow and his cohorts to escape. Canon and Irakura chase after Sparrow, hiding in a military naval complex, while his protege, Maru, prepares to take his mentor's place, as Sparrow's role is finally resolved.

5.3 and 4 - Forced Out and Out With A Bang

Forced Out

Scene 1 [A Docked Ship]
[Canon disguises himself as Sparrow, and then catches the attention of a sailor.]

Scene 2 [Irakura’s HQ]
Messenger: My lord! A sailor has spotted Sparrow hiding on the boats.
Irakura: He’s given himself away! I should’ve known he was on the ships… take them all out to sea, then search the ships.
Messenger: It will be done my lord.
Irakura: Swiftly.

Scene 3 [A Reservoir Tower Near The Pipes]
Atsura: Are you sure about this?
Canon: Mmhmm. I hate to inconvenience anyone, but this has to be done.
[They blow up the tower, which floods the pipes.]

Scene 4 [The Beaches]
Canon: The others are searching the housing comlex, so it’s up to us to smoke him out of the beaches.
[Canon and Atsura with a few others set fire to the beach.]

Scene 5 [HQ]
Irakura: How convenient for us. The enemy of my enemy is inadvertently helping me.

Out With A Bang

Scene 1 [The Houses]
[Enter Canon]
Canon: Koiki! Gather the others and let’s go! Sparrow’s been caught!
Koiki: Right away!

Scene 2 [Outside the HQ]
Irakura: So, I have you once again Sparrow.
Sparrow: Too bad your headquarters is gonna explode.
Irakura: Evacuate the Headquarters! Hurry!
[They all run away from the headquarters. Then, the storage silos explode.]
Irakura: I should’ve known you’d lie, you mongrel!
Sparrow: But this isn’t a lie. There are thirteen bombs hidden around this base. They’ll all go off soon. *laughs*
[Enter Canon]
Canon: I heard his threat, and I’ll help.
Irakura: The soldiers will start sweeping the base for the explosives, while we try and reason like Sparrow, to find where he would place them.

Scene 3 [Same]
Irakura: The best we’ve been able to come up with is anywhere that would symbolize protection or hope… anything to cause a little chaos, or spread a little more fear…
Canon: In other words, we have no idea.

Scene 4 [Same]
Soldier: we’ve only been able to find eleven.
Sparrow: if you don’t release me, you’ll all die!
Soldier: let him go!
Irakura: No!
[The soldiers move in, menacingly.]
Irakura: Fine… it’s your funeral.
[They let Sparrow go, and he runs towards the gate.]
Canon: The twelfth and thirteenth bombs don’t exist.
Irakura: Apprehend him!
[The Gates Explode.]
Canon: my mistake. The thirteenth bomb doesn’t exist. It was his supreme ace in the hole. We’d never find it, so he’d force us to let him go no matter what.

September 15, 2011

5.1 and 2: Transferral and Heads Down

Transferral

Scene 1 [Canon’s Apartment]
Canon: The news from Soto is that there’s been terroristic activity in a coastal military base. It’s almost certainly Sparrow. I’m leaving tomorrow morning to go after him. Irakura is already there.
Atsura: how do You know?
Canon: The Newspaper. There’s a claim in there from Irakura, saying that he’s visiting the base for an inspection. In reality, he’s there to see if Sparrow’s there.
Imeda: Am I going with you?
Canon: …no. You should go back to Moresuke. Atsura, you’ll be leading the ‘a’ team here. I’ve already designated several of you as the ‘b’ team.

Scene 2 [Near the coastal base]
Koiki: Do you see that?
Canon: It looks like fire… let’s look closer.

Scene 3 [The Coastal Base Harbor]
[There’s a large burning ship. The people are walking past it with their heads down, trying to ignore it. Irakura sees it from a window in his building, while Canon is actually on the ground looking at it.]
Canon: This will be harder… do you see the people? Their wills are broken. They are broken.

Heads Down

Scene 1 [Canon’s Room at the Coastal Base]
Canon: Alright men. Here’s what information we’ve garnered thus far, three days into things. Sparrow seems to move at will. The people try to ignore him. They’ve already lost to him. Their will is gone, and with it, their strength. But, I think Irakura is trying to do something about that…

Scene 2 [The Base Plaza]
Irakura: I’ve called you all here to speak with you, man to man. You people are cowards! You do nothing to catch Sparrow, just because he’s pulled a few stunts, and a few of you have died. You can’t give up! You are of Norea! Have pride! Believe in Norea, in the Prince, Believe in me!!!
[While Irakura gives his speech, Canon hunts through the crowd looking for Sparrow, or one of his men.]

Scene 3 [Canon’s Room]
Canon: Koiki?
Koiki: We found nothing.
Canon: There’s a lot of hiding places here. I think the main ones are
1) the extensive beaches
2) the housing complexes, for all the troops and their families.
3) the numerous ships docked here
4) this base boasts intricate, large piping system… most of which fits people.
In order to remedy this, I’ve devised several stratagems. Koiki, get the others and start searching the housing complexes, while I take care of the others.

Volume 4 Finale - Trade

Trade

Scene 1 [The Throne-room]
Irakura: Mr. Takamaru. The war continues, as you might know. If it doesn’t end soon, I will kill you.
Takamaru: Go ahead!
Irakura: Hm. I see. In that case, I have a message for your second in command, who would be…?
Takamaru: Why should I tell you.
Irakura: Because no one wins if this war continues.

Scene 2 [Takamaru’s Camp]
Courier: Gashi? Is there a Gashi here? I have a message for Gashi.
Gashi: I am Gashi.
Courier: I have a message from the Prince.
Gashi: *reads message* My reply is… yes.
Courier: Very good. [Exit Courier]

Scene 3 [The Throne-room]
Courier: My Prince! I have the invader’s reply.
Irakura: Well?
Courier: Gashi said yes.
Irakura: Yes!

Scene 4 [The Harbor]
Eru: Let me get this straight. You agreed to trade Takamaru and the prisoners we’ve taken, in return for their prisoners, and them leaving Norea?
Irakura: Yes.
Eru: What could’ve made them accept such a deal?
Irakura: I can be very convincing when I need to be.
[Enter Chief Soto]
Soto: Prince Irakura! I’ve been looking for you everywhere. It appears that Sparrow is on the loose after the invasion of the capitol.
Eru and Irakura: No…!

Scene 5 [The Throne-room and Canon’s Apartment]
Irakura and Canon, at same time, in different places: The search is on, once again.

Volume 4 - Contrasts

Contrasts

Scene 1 [At a Battlefield]
Takamaru’s Captain: Takamaru, we will soon conquer this area. Our troops are engaging the last pocket of resistance.
Takamaru: Which could take hours, the way these people fight… It’s incredible, really. These people fight tooth and nail for a small hut, and an entire village takes so much effort to take, it’s almost impractical. They’re so different from my people, who’ve switched hands several times…

Scene 2 [A Large Road]
Irakura: Eru, Kasupe, You take your forces, while I go with the larger portion of the troops to engage the enemy’s main army.
Eru: I’ll hunt Takamaru, who is strangely absent from the main army…
Kasupe: I’m going to fight Takamaru’s second division, which appears to be the occupying force.
Eru: Takamaru is taking a third force, smaller than the others, straight for the capitol. That’s where I’ll be.
Irakura: Good hunting.
Kasupe: Good luck, gentlemen.

Scene 3 [Across Norea]
[All across Norea villages and cities prepare for war.]

Volume 4 - Allies

Allies

Scene 1 [The Throne-room]
Irakura: The first step in repelling the invaders is deciding our strategy. I’m sure you’ll all agree with my decision to alert all military bases to fortify themselves, and act as they see fit.
Eru and Kasupe: *nod*
Irakura: So what should be our main strategy?
Eru: Capture the leaders.
Kasupe: Engage them wherever they are.
Irakura: Both good strategies, but mine is best. We use minor villages as bait, then wipe them out.
Eru: That’s horrible, we can’t sacrifice lives like that!
Kasupe: Exactly. That’s why we fight them wherever they are.
Eru: That’s bad too.
Irakura: Using that strategy, the war will last forever.
Eru: How about a compromise?
Irakura and Kasupe: I’m listening.
Eru: We’ll use all of the strategies. I’ll attack Takamaru, while Kasupe distracts part of the force by attacking in other places, while Irakura baits then engages the rest of his main force. Hopefully, we’ll be able to crush them completely.

Scene 2 [Takamaru’s Camp]
Takamaru: So it’s decided. We’ll attack Norea with a three-pronged assault, burning our way through the land to the capitol. This war will only last a few days.
[Outside his camp, ships are unloading troops.]

Scene 3 [Outside the Capitol]
[Troops for Norea are mobilizing.]
Irakura: This war will only last a few days.
Eru: When time is short, every move is critical.

Volume 4 - Nemesis

Nemesis

Scene 1 [The Throne-room]
Irakura: I’ve received a messenger from the leader of the foreign forces. He calls himself Takamaru Gashi. He claims he’s been sent by God to free this land. He’s given us the chance to surrender. I sent him the messenger… minus his clothes and hair.
Eru Yagami: Some of the people think Takamaru can help.
Kasupe: Others are still loyal.
Eru: Our followers will wait to see how we react.

Scene 2 [The Grand Plaza]
Kasupe and Eru: I declare allegiance to Norea!
Eru: Even if it means allegiance to the Prince.

Scene 3 [Eru’s Apartment]
Atsura: Allegiance to the Prince?
Eru: Better under the Prince then Takamaru.

Scene 4 [The Throne-room]
Kasupe: Me and Eru want in on the war. As generals.
Irakura: Hm. I will take you Kasupe, as you have a noble’s training, but I don’t know about Eru.
Eru: Why don’t we play a game of chess, for you to see?
Irakura: Splendid idea.
[They play chess. At one point, Irakura sweeps all the pieces off the board.]
Irakura: I never allow checkmate, even if I have to cheat. And I can cheat, because I’m the Prince.
Eru: Very good. Very good.
Irakura: But, I can see that you are an excellent strategist. Very well, you may join me and Kasupe. Three candidates, three generals, one prince, one supreme commander.

Volume 4 - Invasion

Invasion

But if our hopes are betrayed, if we are forced to resist the invasion of our soil, and to defend our threatened homes, this duty, however hard it may be, will find us armed and resolved upon the greatest sacrifices.

King Albert II

Act 1, Scene 1, The Capitol Watchtower
Guard: Alert the Prince!

Scene 2, The Palace Throne Room
Horse-Riders: Sire! We bring urgent news.

Scene 3, The Grand Plaza
Irakura: People, people I have terrible news! An invading fleet has been spotted of the coast at several different areas! Worse! There are ships inside of the harbor as we speak! They’re rawing closer every moment! Flee the capitol, prepare for invasion, defend yourselves and your families! Do what you know is right!

Scene 4, The Harbor
[A small group of ships are headed towards the capitol]

Scene 5, A Defense Tower
Guard 1: That doesn’t look Norean.
Guard 2: It used the right pattern with the signal flags, they must be allies.
Soldier: *bursts into room* Don’t let them through!
Guard 1: It’s too late!
Guard 2: Jump!
[The three jump as several cannonballs slam into the tower.]

Act 2, Scene1, The Grand Plaza
Irakura: In order to make us stronger, I will retrain all of my power, and tomorrow’s vote will be postponed until the current crisis is dealt with.

Scene 2, The Harbor
[The enemy ships attack the harbor, and the other ships, before they manage to get out of the harbor. The defensive towers fire on the ships, which return fire while troops pour out into the capitol.]

Scene 3, Various Places Around the Capitol
[Numerous scenes of Noreans, both military and civilian fighting the invaders, with Irakura’s words “We will never give up on our home” in the back ground. They’re all fighting hard, obviously because it’s their home.]

Scene 4, The Grand Plaza, War-Torn, A Few Days Later
Irakura: We’ve triumphed, over these ruthless invaders. The memories of our loved ones, and our freedom, pushed us onwards, to our victory. We know that we’ll never back down. We know we’ll never lose. Remarkably, we’ve fought off the incursion within a few days, and with few casualties. But now, I have to leave you all. There have been other assaults, across the country, much fiercer than the one we endured and pushed back. I must lead the armed forces, as their Prince. It’s my responsibility, and I’ll see it through.

Volume 4 - Champion

Champion

Scene 1, The Grand Plaza
Irakura: People, I have a new champion! Someone who is honest and honorable. He is here with me. Say hello, to Sanyuta of the Kachyu!
Crowd: *cheers*
[Enter Sanyuta, whose armor is very updated and similar to his old.]
Atsura: Sparrow killed him…
Canon: Apparently not.

Scene 2, Canon’s Apartment
[Canon is asleep. Then, Sanyuta comes through the window, which wakes up Canon, who rolls out of bed as Sanyuta smashes it. Canon scrambles to his sword, and fights Sanyuta through his apartment. He breaks down his door and runs out of the building. Sanyuta chases him.]
Canon: You’re not Sanyuta.
Sanyuta: What?!
Canon: You haven’t said anything, the real Sanyuta would’ve given reasons for his actions. You’re just trying to kill me… like you’re just Irakura’s servant.
Sanyuta: *drops his weapon* I…
Canon: I won’t reveal your secret if you leave. Now. And never return.
Sanyuta: I do want to escape all of this…
Canon: Go.

Scene 3, Outside the Capitol
[Sanyuta is leaving, when an arrow sticks in his back. On the wall, a different Sanyuta, with an old version of Sanyuta’s armor. A fire flares up outside and the new Sanyuta looks at it, and sees what appears to be a very new Sanyuta. A wave of smoke comes off the fire, and then when it clears, he’s disappeared. The second Sanyuta removes his mask and turns out to be a confused Sparrow.]

Volume 4 - Dominos

Dominos

I call it like the domino theory of reality. If you can go one step at a time and it seems to make sense, you can then take your audience into an area that is relatively outlandish.

Ivan Reitman

Act 1, Scene 1, The Grand Plaza
Atsura (aside): Imeda, please…
Imeda: I won’t claim to be married to you. Never.
Atsura: I’ll be ruined! I don’t know how Irakura managed to maneuver things like this, but I know that if we aren’t “married”, I’m totally gone.
Imeda: I’d rather die than say I’m married to you!
Atsura: Please-!
Irakura (turns to Atsura): So? Are you two married?!
Imeda (stands up): No! We aren’t! I don’t even love this man. We used to be friends. But I’m not sure naymore. [Exit]
Atsura: Please! I had to have her help!
Irakura: Leave, deceiver. Just leave.

Scene 2, Kasupe’s Place
Canon: Eru can retract support and put it behind you. Same with Atsura, with whatever little support he has left…
Kasupe: Why?
Canon: Because, I can’t see any real evil in you. You’re our best choice. You’re our only chance for competing with Irakura in the vote.
Kaspe: …okay. I guess I’ll accept your aid, if it helps me become Prince. I’ll take whatever help I can get to achieve my goals!
Canon: We’ll work this out, together.

Volume 4 - Taking Risks

Taking Risks

“If you're not making mistakes, you're not taking risks, and that means you're not going anywhere. The key is to make mistakes faster than the competition, so you have more changes to learn and win.”
John W. Holt, Jr.

Scene 1, Canon's Apartment
Canon: She's done with me... there's no way she'll take me back after I treated her like that...
Eru: So I might as well make good use of myself and get some dirt on Irakura.

Scene 2
[Canon breaks into the Palace, dodging guards, and makes his way to the Royal Library. He begins to read scrolls.]

Scroll 1
Norea was founded as a union of villages, ruled by the three major cities. Norea was meant to be a symbol of hope, and wasn't actually a government. It is completely wrong for Norea to be seen as a country. It's supposed to be a group of intellectuals, determining what's good for their homes!
~Sa, The Lord of the Coast

[Before Canon can read more about the origins of Norea, he hears a sentry walking through the library, so he changes positions, to dodge him. After he does, he finds a quiet corner and sits down.]

Scroll 2
The First War of Norea
We were assaulted by foreign peoples of an unknown character. They destroyed all of our defenses, within weeks, as detailed in the attached scroll. We had almost lost, when a great hero rallied the people and fought back. The hero's name was-

[Canon is forced to move again.]

Scroll 3
I am the King. My name is [scratched out], and I have a son and wife. My son's name is Irakura. I am hoping for great things from him. He's already shown so much promise. He's a genius, in social and tactical matters.

[Canon slams this scroll shut, angered.]

Scroll 4
The war is going horribly. Every time we make an advance, we are forced back! Enclosed are details.
~General Sukaru

[Canon takes this scroll and leaves. He's spotted, and is forced to run. He escapes, and walks back to his apartment, very tired.]

Scene 3, Canon's Apartment
[Enter Canon]
Imeda: You're back!
Canon: You're awake?
Imeda: I woke up right after You left. I've been waiting all night...
Canon: What...?
Imeda: Canon... I care for You. I love You.
Canon: I'm so sorry Imeda... I love You too.

Volume 4 - Partners

Partners

Scene 1, The Grand Plaza
Irakura: There is one week left until the vote! To mark the occasion, I thought i'd introduce You to my wife, Meifune!
[Enter Meifune]
Irakura: I was very careful when I chose my wife, and Your princess. I doubt any of You will dislike Lady Meifune!
Meifune: Hi!
Irakura: *turns towards Meifune* Why don't You tell them about Your most recent project?
Meifune: I'm organizing efforts to assist drought-affected areas! And at my request, my husband is creating a new division of the government to deal with disasters.
Monki: I have a female partner here as well. Introducing, Imeda Atana!
[Enter Imeda]
Imeda: Pleased to meet You!
Monki: We are close -very close- friends.
Imeda: i'm so happy to meet You! I hope I get to know all of You much better!
Irakura: Hm... I see... well... I am hosting a party at the Palace later. You are all invited.

Scene 2, Canon's Apartment
[Enter Imeda and Atsura]
Imeda: *giggling* That was so fun!
Canon (sarcastically): Glad You had fun. Did You get any work done?
Atsura: Imeda's wonderful (Canon: Yeah... I know!) Everyone who talked with her is absolutely enamored with her.
Canon: Glad it went well.
[Exit Atsura]
Canon: Aren't You staying with him?
Imeda: No... why would I?
Canon: wouldn't that be good for Your image? Ms. Imeda, capitol celebrity.
Imeda: Eru Yagami, I don't like the way You're talking to me.
Canon: …
Imeda: What's wrong? Let me help You...
Canon: Nothing's wrong. This was my idea, I'll stick it through. It's already effective, why stop now? It could damage Us if we stopped this charade. To make it real, You'll have to stay away from me.
Imeda: What?!
Canon: You have to stay away. If we're together, it will damage Monki's campaign.
Imeda: Monki's campaign? So now they're separate people?
Canon: Yes! Just like how Eru Yagami is a totally different person.
Imeda: Well, ERU, I guess i'm going to sleep now. We obviously have nothing to talk about...
Eru: *turns away from her* Goodnight.
Imeda (gently): Goodnight. I hope You feel better.
[Exit Imeda]
Canon: *falls to his knees, broken*

Scene 3, Kasupe's Home
Kasupe: Dear Mana,
I need Your help. Irakura has more power than me, but with You I could become stronger... We can win against this evil together!

Volume 4 - Cheating

Cheating

Scene 1, The Grand Plaza
Monki: The Prince is a liar!
Irakura: While it is true that the Treasury is empty, I am not a liar. I never said that the Treasury wasn't empty!
Kasupe: You said that Norea needn't worry about their financial well-being!
Irakura: Yes. Because I am rich.
Monki: From embezzlement!
Irakura: Because my father worked hard, and his father before him, and before him, until the beginning of time! The reason Norea needn't worry is that I have been paying out of my pocket when taxes wouldn't suffice! Instead of raising taxes, i've been taking money from my own fortune. I didn't mention it because I didn't want to appear like I was doing it for glory or something. My own wife Meifune doesn't know.
Canon (in the crowd, to himself): His wife Meifune...

Scene 2, The Palace, Meifune's Chambers
Attendant: Lady Meifune, You have a caller.
Meifune: Send them in!
[Enter Canon, who takes a seat at a table across from her.]
Canon: Lady Meifune, my name is... Eru Yagami.
Meifune: Eru Yagami? You were running for Prince! But You pulled out for some reason...? You were going to win, did You know?
Eru: Yes I did. I pulled out because I'm investigating Irakura. My goal is to take him down.
Meifune: Like the Ameyura? And Sparrow?
Eru: Not quite. I want hard evidence.
Meifune: Why did You come to me?
Eru: Because I have a feeling that Irakura isn't a very good husband. And I think that You have valuable information, and that You could help me a lot.
Meifune: I could... if You live with me.
Eru: What?!
Meifune: I can't trust You. And I want to get to know You better... *winks*
Eru: No.
Meifune: Just live here! We won't do anything!
Eru: No. I have a love already. I won't betray her.
Meifune: Don't scorn me.
[Exit Eru]
[Exit Meifune]

Scene 3, The Throne-Room
[Irakura is sitting on his Throne, when Meifune enters.]
Meifune: My lord... please forgive me. I was close to working with Your enemies... I promise, I will always be faithful! Please! Take me back!
Irakura: my love, I never let You go... I knew Eru was here. I allowed the meeting to happen, so You could see how bad other men are.
Meifune: i'm sorry
Irakura: It's okay. I knew what was happening... I wouldn't allow You to make a lasting mistake.

Scene 4, Canon's Apartment
Koiki: What's he doing?
Atsura: He writes her all the time.
Canon: *writing letter*
[These are the words he's writing.]
And so, =I, in her words, “scorned her”. I didn't even consider that offer. I miss You a lot. But, I know I have to do this. I love You, Imeda. May I ask a favor...?

Volume 4 - Momentum

Momentum

Scene 1, The Throne-Room
[Irakura, Kasupe, Monki, and Taebii are in the throne-room.]
The Prince: I've called You here because You are all candidates to become The Prince. There's an important matter we must discuss. The people have elected representatives, and they will be the ones who vote for The Prince. There is one for every registered city and village. They are extremely important. They embody the city or village they come from, and are the only ones who embody their people's will.
Taebii: I am withdrawing.
Others: What?!
Taebii: The resentment for foreigners is surging, so i'm leaving. It'll only cause trouble if I remain. I'm leaving tonight.

Scene 2, The Grand Plaza
Kasupe: I will not revoke my comments about the nobility! You may think that I am one, but I'm not! I was raised in a small village, by my stepfather and mother. My father was the king's uncle. My mother was 17 years younger, but they were in love. When my father died, my mother left the Palace and remarried. Her husband made an honest living, so I didn't even know I was a noble until I turned 18 and my mother told me. I traveled here several years ago, and have become accustomed to the ways of the capitol, and of The Prince! That's why i'm going to become Prince, so I can make things better!
Canon: This will regain any support he's lost, and will probably earn him sympathy.

Scene 3, Canon's Apartment
Canon: We need to do something, about Irakura. He has too much support! I've been thinking about this, and i've decided that i'm going to break into the treasury, and check how much money there is. If there's none, he's either embezzling, or he's run us ragged. If there's a lot, he hasn't done enough! It's a win-win situation for Us.
Others: Yeah!

Scene 4, The Palace
Canon: The Treasury is underneath the Palace... I don't know where it's hidden tho...
Man: *walks by humming*
Canon: *grabs him then shoves him up against a wall* Where's the Treasury?!

Scene 5, The Opening to The Treasury
[The opening opens, and Canon descends. He looks around, and sees that there's absolutely nothing. The place is cleaned out.]

Scene 6, The Grand Plaza
Monki: I have an announcement for the people! The Treasury is EMPTY!!! The Prince is a liar!

Volume 4 - Switches

Switches

Scene 1, The Grand Plaza
Canon (from the crowd): I'd like to nominate... a nominee!
Irakura: It's a little late, but sure, I guess.
Canon: I nominate Monki Nan!
[The politicians murmur amongst themselves, and flashbacks are shown, where Monki Nan (Atsura in disguise) has attended many political meetings.]
Chief Soto: I'd like to nominate Eru Yagami.
Canon: *stands up* Thank You, Chief.
Irakura: Who are You people??
Canon: I am Eru Yagami.
Atsura: I am Monki Nan.
Irakura: Wait... *looks long at Canon* Eru, huh...

Scene 2, The Grand Plaza, One Week Later
Irakura: Hm... so... according to the will of the people... we have held... polls. To show who's the most popular thus far. In first, with 50% of the populace, is I, Irakura! Second is a tie, with Mana Taebii holding 20%, and Eru Yagami, with 20%. Monki and Kasupe each have 5%.
Eru: There's no way. These numbers are rigged. Atsura, er, Monki, can You tell the boys to run Our OWN poll?
Monki: Sure thing, ERU. *wink*

Scene 3, Canon's Apartment
Atsura: Here's the readings of our poll. Irakura, with 24%, Eru, with 33%, Mana, with 17%, Kasupe with a nice round 10%, and finally me, Monki, with 16%!
Canon: Irakura;s obviously rigged the numbers to show in his favor.
Everyone Else: *looks at Canon in wonder*
Canon: *looks up* What??
Koiki: You're gonnna be The Prince...!
Canon: Oh... Oh...! I am, aren't I? Well, I don't have any interest in that. I'm certain, from the way he's been staring at me, that Irakura knows who I am. Before he reveals that, and wipes out my legitimate base, i'm going to put my weight behind Monki. If I pull out before Irakura reveals secrets about me, i'll still be able to resurface, and aid You if needed.

Scene 4, The Grand Plaza
Eru: I'd like all of my supporters to vote for Monki Nan... i'll be removing myself from candidacy due to personal problems. I'll be supporting him, and I hope You will as well.
Monki: Thank You for Your support, Eru.

Scene 5, Canon's Apartment
Canon: We've performed another poll. According to it's results, Monki is now in the lead, with 48%, Irakura, 27%, Mana, 12%, and Kasupe with 13%. … Congratulations Atsura, You're a very popular fellow now.

Volume 4 - Tricks

Tricks

Trickery and treachery are the practices of fools that have not the wits enough to be honest”
Benjamin Franklin

Scene 1, The Grand Plaza
The Prince: Welcome, to today's debates! I would like to begin. Is that alright?
Kasupe: *nods, but looks wary and troubled*
Mana: Of course.
The Prince: Kasupe, do You stand by Your remarks yesterday?
[Flashback]
Kasupe: The nobility is corrupt! And the king's family is the worst. Despite the progress this election is making, the idea that a bloodline is valuable is disgusting! The king's family is disgusting! It's horrendous! It's!...
[Present]
Kasupe: ...always.
The Prince: Then it may interest the people to know that You, Kasupe, are related to the King!
Kasupe: No...! Shut up! No!!
Canon (to Atsura): This is interesting. Are You ready?
Atsura: Yup.
Irakura: Kasupe is the king's cousin!
[Crowd gasps and is angry at Kasupe 'cause his remarks were hypocritical]
Irakura: Kasupe is a hypocrit!
Kasupe: *head in hands, shamed*
Taebii: He gave up the nobility, he was raised without it!At least he's not a terrorist!
Irakura: Would You be referring to Sparrow? Mr. Taebii You're less entitled to become The Prince than that infamous man!
Taebii: What--?! No!
The Prince: Mana Taebii is not from Norea! He is from a foreign land!
Taebii: Forgive me...
[Crowd's very angry towards him.]
Koiki: Why are they so angry?
Canon: The war isn't going well. Anyone not from here is under suspicion, and usually hated.
Atsura: That's awful...
Mana: I will be withdrawing. But first, I would like to read a little from these scrolls, that Hebimaru left with me.
“Execute everyone in the village.”
“Coerce him into working with Us, or arrange an accident.”
“Bribe whoever You need to.”
*rolls up the scrolls* That's only a small portion. These are direct orders from Irakura.
Canon: Now they're all discredited.
[Exit Taebii]
Irakura: I did what I had to do, for the people! For the people!

Volume 4 - Sounds

Sounds

“I do not believe that any political campaign justifies the declaration of a moratorium on ordinary common sense.”
Dwight David Eisenhower

Scene 1, The Grand Plaza
Irakura: People! As per Your wishes, we will be holding an election for the position of Prince, within a few weeks! Are there any nominations?!
Hebimaru: I nominate Irakura!
Irakura: *bows and smirks* Why thank You Hebimaru.
Mana Taebii: I nominate Dan Kasupe!
Dan Kasupe: I nomnate Mana Taebii!
Both: *bow* thank You for Your support.
Irakura: We will hold debates here, everyday, until the election, so the people can better choose who to vote for. You're encouraged to visit rallies, and the campaigners' words will be relayed to the people through Norea's very first newspaper, The Prince's Bugle!
[Crowd Cheers]

Scene 2, Canon's Apartment
Koiki: So who will we, and the Ameyura, support?
Canon: I don't know. I don't know any of these candidates, so we'll have to thoroughly investigate them before we make our decision.
Atsura: What about Kasupe?
Canon: I'm not sure if we can trust Kasupe, he's relayed information to Us before, but that's only because we told him that we're the Ameyura, and that we're seeking to overthrow The Prince. He could just be power-hungry. Atsura, I want You to make some preparations.
Atsura: For what?
Canon: I'll tell You after the others leave.

Scene 3, Mana's Home
Heiba: How odd that Mana isn't home...
Canon: it is kind of strange. I wonder where he is... Heiba, keep watch. I'm going to check his personal papers.
Heiba: Right!
[Canon breaks into his office and checks through his papers.]
Canon: Donations to charities... payments for damages... his journal... *flips through it* nothing strange there... except for the fact that this guy seems perfect! No one's this good.
[Exit]

Scene 4, The Grand Plaza
Irakura: People, i've realized that Your feelings towards my servant Hebimaru aren't very good... so i'm firing him!
People: *silence*
Irakura: All for You! He is no longer welcome in my Palace, or even at the political meetings!
Hebimaru: You...! *gets up and leaves, very angry*
Irakura: Whoops! Looks like I forgot to tell him about this! Hahaha!
Taebii: That was rather cold.
Kasupe: Yeah. But it was pretty funny!

Scene 5, The Harbor
Hebimaru: I want one ship, to sail far beyond Norea.
Captain: I can give You that.

Scene 6, In The Market
[Canon is following Kasupe. Kasupe gets angry when a shop keeper gives him rotten fruit, but Kasupe blows it off. Kasupe gives a little money to some street children.]

Scene 7, Canon's Apartment
Canon: I've followed them each for a week now, and they seem to be pretty good people. Mana Taebii seems too good to be true, so i'm wary of him. Kasupe is very human, but a good one.
Atsura: So who...?
Canon: Both, for now. We'll wait for new developments.
Koiki: The campaigning has gotten pretty big, hasn't it?
Atsura: Of course. The winner becomes The Prince.

Volume 3 Finale - THE KING!!

THE KING!!

I think the relation between the monarchy and the press is very much a two-way street.
Anthony Holden

Scene 1, Canon's Apartment
Koiki: Hey, have you guys seen this? *throws newspaper on table*
Canon: It’s called a newspaper. Meifune’s friend Kiyomi runs it.
Koiki: yeah, I know it’s a newspaper, I meant the article in it.
All: Ahhh.
Koiki: The King is dying, finally.
Canon: Interesting… the King is well beloved. If Irakura lets him die, he’ll be less popular. But if he saves him, he loses the throne, in return for the love of the people… knowing Irakura, I guess he’ll let him die. He makes unpopular choices a lot, and he’s not gonna risk losing the throne.

Scene 2 [The Palace]
Irakura: Doctor, do you know what’s wrong with my father yet?
Doctor: Not quite yet, but I do know many things about the disease he’s contracted.
Irakura: Really? Like what?
Doctor: It’s not flu, it’s not a cold, it’s not plague…

Scene 3 [Sparrow’s Secret Cell]
[Enter Maru]
Sparrow: Any problems?
Maru: A-
Sparrow: I don’t care. I have a job for the gang.
Maru: Yes?
Sparrow: Assassinate the King.
Maru: It will be done.

Scene 4 [The Palace]
Irakura: Maybe he was poisoned?
Doctor: An excellent idea, I mean to check for poisons.
Later
Doctor: I’ve found traces of Nemerasuke in his blood. It’s a crippling poison, but treatable.
Irakura: Then do it.

Scene 5 [The Grand Plaza]
Irakura: Ladies! Gents! Presenting, my father, the King of Norea!!
Crowd: *massive cheers*
[Enter King]
King: I’m so glad to see my people again
Crowd: *gasps and shouts, as a large flock of birds erupt from beneath the balcony.*
King: What-
Irakura: Father!
King: *falls down with an arrow sticking out of him*
Crowd: *screams*
Irakura: No!!

Scene 6 [Sparrow’s Secret Cell]
Soto: Sparrow!!
Sparrow: Hey there Chief.
Soto: Why?! Why did you do it?!
Sparrow: Do what?
Soto: Don’t lie to me! I know you killed the King. But why?!
Sparrow: I couldn’t kill him, I’m stuck in this cell. But… the King’s return would grant him a reprieve from everything going on, and that would be wrong. There is no rest for villains.

Volume 3 - Pressure

Pressure

“The key is to keep putting pressure on them. We did what we had to do.”
-Dave Dwyer

*cut through several different scenes quickly*
[At the Grand Plaza, a huge pillar of fire shoot out, scaring many.]
[A group of shops are broken into and vandalized at the same time.]
[A building is blown out, floor by floor.]

Scene 2, The Throne-Room
The Prince: I've received news that there have been several recent attacks from the terrorist group formerly led by Sparrow. I say formerly, because it would appear that Sparrow is missing in action. I don't know if it's a trick, or if he's resting, or something else, but for now Sparrow is out of play. The continued attacks is very bad news tho...

Scene 3, Underneath The Police Station
[Sparrow is in a jail cell, obviously secret.]

Scene 4, The Throne-Room
Irakura: These attacks MUST stop. We cannot allow any more of this. The people can't take any more of this... it WILL end. I want the military to sweep thru this city. I want everywhere checked. We will catch them, no matter what the cost.
[Military personnel are kicking down doors, storming buildings, checking everywhere.]

Scene 5, Canon's Apartment
Atsura: *comes in* I see everyone else is here... I just had to leave my place, the cops are arresting people left and right, im certain they'd arrest me!
Canon: That's what the others have said... this isn't good. They'll arrest all of Us most likely. Why is Irakura doing this? Could it be that Sparrow's crew has finally pushed him over? That must be it. Sparrow's mind is out, but his hands are still trying to choke the life out of Irakura. We need to make sure Sparrow's men are captured before Us. The military is checking the city from the Palace down, that means they're going to reach the slums last. I bet they're hiding in the slums, or even in the sewers...
Atsura: So what's the plan?
Canon: We'll burn them out of the sewers, the gases down there are highly flammable, but in pockets, so it'd be a highly staggered set of explosions. They'd have time to get out. Atsura and Koiki, set the sewers afire. I'll take the others and start searching for clues in the slums. When You're done, search the warehouses in the factory district. Sparrow's hidden there before, when he was involved in the breakout.
The Others: Yes sir!

Scene 6, The Sewers
[Atsura and Koiki light several torches, then set the sewers on fire. They climb out, and follow the path of the fire above ground, waiting for them to come out.]

Scene 7, The Slums
[Canon attempts to start talks with people, but is unsuccesful.]
Canon: Noone wants to talk... it could be that they're afraid, giving weight towards them hiding here, or they're just not interested... I think we'll have to go check the factories, since they're unwilling to aid Us, and we have no leads.

Scene 8, The Warehouses
Canon: Atsura, Koiki! Nothing on Your end?
Koiki: Uh uh.
Canon: Alright. We'll sweep through these warehouses. If there's nothing here, we don't have a chance.
[Canon and his team check warehouses, but don't find anything for a while, then they find a guy in one of them.]
Canon: *sneaks up and hits him*
Man: Wha-
Canon: *grabs him by the throat* Where's the others?
Man: Urk-i-Geh-dont-know-*cough*-what-bleh-Youre talking about!
Canon: *throws him to the ground* I know You worked for Sparrow; this must be where You stored the explosives. Where's Your base? *kicks him in the stomach*
Man: I-
Canon: *pulls out a knife* If I can't have the pleasure of catching the others, i'll have the pleasure of killing one of You...
Man: You wouldn't-
Canon: I would. But I won't if You tell me where they are. Tell me! *throws the knife right next to him*
Man: Alright! Alright! In the slums! By the city gates, it's three floors, completely empty except for the top floor, that's where they are! It has full windows everywhere, that's what distinguishes it. It's by the city walls.
Canon: Youre coming with Us, in case Youre lying.
[Exit]

Scene 9, The Slums
[Canon and his team find the building, and Canon quickly searches it, carefully. He sees lookouts, slips past them, and finds the rest of them on the top floor.]
Canon: Koiki, go inform Chief Soto that We've found the location of Sparrow's gang. And You, *points at man they captured*, You can leave. Don't let me catch You acting as a terrorist again, or I'll turn You in.

Scene 10, Same
[Chief Soto, led by Koiki, leads a military force into the building. There's a small fight, but the terrorists lose. They're taken away, to prisons.]
