i have at last completed a comprehensive timeline for my story, prompted by my work on The Conditions of Canon's Birth, which focuses on his parents. More on that soon! The first section, the "in the beginning" is the Rule of the Ancients.
The Rule of the Ancients 605-205 B.I.R.*
Dating back to 605 B.I.R. the people of Norea were servents to the Ancients, of whom little is currently known. The Ancients had a thriving civilizattion, and many cities. After their decline, the historically significant city of Arakunea would be the only one remaining.
The people of Norea humbly accepted their servitude for 300 years. Then, in 305 B.I.R., the "War of the Ancients" began. It is unknown who the combatants were. It may have been Ancients battling each other, or Noreans rebelling against the Ancients. It is only known, that after 100 years of war, the Ancients vanishe d, leaving behind a single city, and a few scattered artifacts.
The people of Norea were at last free, and, reluctant to be at another beings mercy again so soon, opted not to form a cohesive government, instead allowing each village to rule itself. In the end, this would lead to more pain and bloodshed then they could've imagined...
*Before Irakura's Rule. Years are measured by this. After Irakura begins to reign, it changes to S.I.R., Since Irakura's Reign. The story begins at 1 S.I.R.
